Yes, we love baptising the children of Christian parents! Throughout the Bible, God sees the children of Israel and the church as part of his people and the recipients of his gospel.
In the Old Testament, God extended his gospel promises to the children of Israel, and he sealed that promise through circumcision (17:10). Every Israelite man both old and young was circumcised as a sign not of our faith but of God's faithfulness.
And it's no different in the New Testament. What circumcision was to the children of Israel, baptism is to the children of the church. It isn't a sign of our faith but a picture of God's promises. It's an outward, permanent and visible reminder of what God has done for us in Jesus.
That's why we love baptising our kids because we want them to know that they belong and we want them one day to believe! And when that day comes, we ask those children - now adults - to outwardly confirm their personal trust in Jesus.
We acknowledge that some Christians prefer to dedicate their child and we respect that decision as God has entrusted the primary care children to their parents. So we happily baptise or dedicate a child based on their parents' convictions. Either way, we want to celebrate Jesus' heart for kids "because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Mt 19:14).
