Care & Support

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you."

1 Peter 5:6-7

Care shouldn't just be pastoral
The term "pastoral care" makes us think that our personal care is primarily our pastor's responsibility. But Jesus calls all of us to care for one another.

In our ever-growing church, we offer care in 4 ways...
  • One Another
Our front line of care is one another

God calls us to support one another through the ups and downs of everyday life through prayer, acts of kindness, words of comfort and time together.

While we can't be friends with everyone at church, church is the best place to form deep friendships with people who can journey through life with us.

In the ordinary course of life, most of our care needs are wonderfully met by brothers and sisters in Christ loving one another as Jesus loved us.
  • BLT Network
Our primary place of care is our BLT

In difficult seasons, it really helps to have the same group of Christians regularly remind us of God's word, pray for us, and practically care for us.

Our BLTs are the primary place where we can be known, belong and be loved. Our BLT Leaders can also connect us with other parts of the church family that offer specialised care in crisis situations.

If you have a particular care need, your BLT Leaders are the first people you should contact for help from our church.
  • Care Team
Our crisis moments are met by our Care Team

All of us go through uniquely difficult times: bereavement, miscarriage, marital breakdown and even family violence.

In those crisis moments, our Care Team can meet with you and refer you to professional help, e.g. a counsellor, psychologist or clinical assistance. Any care provided by this team is not a substitute for professional treatment.

As trained social workers, our Care Team leaders also provide occasional advice to our Staff Team regarding individual pastoral matters.
  • Staff Team
Our structures of care are set by our Staff Team

In an ever-growing church, it's essential that we have strong systems and structures to ensure that every believer is cared for.

While our Staff Team will occasionally step into individual care emergencies, it is one another and the BLT Network that are on the frontline.

The Staff Team expresses its care by overseeing our whole church family and making sure that there are as few gaps as possible through which we can fall.
In any care situation, you need three different people: a pastor, a counsellor and friends
As a church, we can be your pastor, refer to you to a counsellor, and equip your friends
